Why Education Support Matters

Although Uganda has made significant progress in expanding access to education, many children from poor and vulnerable families still struggle to stay in school. The major barriers include school fees, uniforms, books, meals, transport, and other learning requirements. For children without adequate family support, these challenges can lead to irregular attendance, delayed enrolment, or dropping out of school.

Children can also face challenges beyond the cost of schooling. In some rural communities, schools may be located far from children’s homes, making regular attendance difficult. Families may also have to make difficult decisions when they cannot afford to support all their children in school. Vulnerable children, particularly those without adequate family support, are often at greater risk of falling behind or leaving school altogether.

What Nicholas Kinyera Foundation Is Doing

The Nicholas Kinyera Foundation supports orphaned and vulnerable children with school fees, scholastic materials, uniforms, shoes, meals, mentorship, and other essential educational needs. We also work with parents, caregivers, schools, churches, and community leaders to encourage children to remain in school and complete their education.

Our goal is not only to help children attend school, but to give them the support, confidence, and skills they need to succeed. Through education sponsorship, mentorship, life-skills development, and career guidance, we are helping vulnerable children build brighter futures and become productive members of their communities.
